SMALL SCALE SCENE Model Photo Gallery Page 4

| New 7/4/2002 | This is a fourth page of some more photos of models within my collection, added in April 2002. Hope you like them Robin |
|
MAN F4 6.5 Ton This resin model is from Art Toys in Belgium, though they have a tie up with Wespe Models in Rumania. It is not a difficult one to assemble, and the end result is good. It is intended to go with the Heavy Cargo Trailer illustrated elsewhere in the Gallery pages.

Powder Camouflage This is another example of a base coat of Humbrol enamel, and the mottle green is achieved using Carrs Weathering Powders, again a technique I have mentioned elsewhere. Note that Wespe Models are also doing this truck in 1/35 as well now.

Tiger II in the Farm This is the Cromwell Models 1/76 Tiger II with Porsche turret, in their Combat Ready series. The farm is one from the range of wargames accessories by Shell Hole Scenics, which makes up into a neat display piece.

Tiger II This is the same as the one above, this time on a different base. Clear here is the zimmeritt finsih of the model, which is excellent, and the use of dry rub transfers by Arncher Models, in their 1/72 scale series of transfer sheets.

Tiger I This time the Tiger I with zimmeritt, also a 1/76 "Combat Ready" by Cromwell Models. The transfers by Archer again mould well to the zimmeritt surface. The numbers are from one sheet, the German crosses another in the Archer Fine Transfers range.

CMSC Foden A beautiful 1/76 kit from CMSC, which makes up well. This 8-wheeler is one of the low mobility series of British Army support vehicles, in other words intended to be confined to the roads rather than with a cross country ability. Main parts in resin, with details in metal.

CMSC Foden Tanker The smaller of 2 1/76 Foden tankers in the CMSC range, the other is on the larger 8 wheel chassis. Again, mainly resin, with metal detail fittings.

Shell Hole Scenics Farm Really a chance to include a photo of the whole farm piece by Shell Hole Scenics. The roof and floor of the farm house are removable to allow the placement of figures for wargamers. There are some interesting diorama possibilities with a command group in the building, and maybe a maintenance team at work on utility vehicles in the building at the back.

Combat Engineer Tractor This is the 1/35 model from Accurate Armour. I featured it in Military Modelling some years ago. The transfers comes from one of a few sheets which Cromwell Models released a few years ago. The kit is a mix of resin and metal parts, with some photo etched brass detail fitments.

CET Close-up Just a more detailed look at the complexities of the bucket and lifting gear. I have always felt this is an interesting looking vehicle.

Ferret Mk 1 / 2 From Accurate Armour, and with interior details to the crew compartment, this is just one of the series of 1/35 Ferrets in their range. It makes up very well. I left the top on this one loose, so we can see the interior.

Humber Scout From Accurate Armour, another 1/35 model. The transfers used also come from the Accurate Armour range.

Gulf Ferret 1 / 2 This time one from Cromwell Models, in their 1/35 series of all resin models. Comes complete with the stowage racks over the rear engine deck. They were still going well by the time of the Gulf War in the early 1990s, long after they first came into service.

Vickers MG Carrier More extensive 1/35 conversion by Resicast, including photo etched brass parts, replacment tracks, as well as the Vicker mg itself.

Wading Carrier Easy but interesting 1/35 conversion by Resicast, to go with the Tamiya Universal Carrier. Uses rod to make up the bars which hold the plates in place. There are plenty of photo references showing these plates still in place after the immediate landings, often as here with the drivers plate removed.
