  Tatra T57 Kubel

One of the latest models from MMS comes this little Tatra. Metal cast kit in 1/76. There is a plastic kit of the Tatra by Attack models, but I have to say I prefer the detail and feel of this neat litle model. This one has the tilt folded, but another full one is privded in the kit so you have the choice of either (I plan to do another with the full tilt, in grey).

  Phanomen Granit Fernsprechtwagen

The first kit I've seen from the JV Models range. Resin cast, to 1/72 scale, it makes up easily and looks good. As with the Tatra above, the green camo is done with weathering powders, not an airbrush. Available in the UK via Blitzkrieg Models.

  GMC and Box Van

Beautifully cast resin model in 1/72 from Al.By., and another model I am fond of. In this cas, even the transfers are included with the basic kit.

  MT-LB

Another moden Russian subject, a 1/72 model by Ace Models of the Ukraine. A limited production injection moulded kit, with some etched parts also included (see photo below as an example). I'd suggest these are for modellers with a bit of experience with plastic kits, as you need to take time and care to clean up the parts, but having sone so, this one is made straight from the box.

  MT-LB in Detail

Detail shot of the back of the Ace kit of the MT-LB. You can see how good the etched parts are for the swim vanes, and also for the tie down points on the roof, which replace the plastic "lumps" cast in place. Cut them off and replace with the etch replacements. I think you can see them well enough here.

  Ace 2S1

Built straight from the box, this is the limited run injection moulded plastic kit of the 122mm SP gun, the 2S1, from Ace Models in the Ukraine. To 1/72 scale, it has etched brass parts for some items, such as the swim vanes just visible at the back of the tracks, and as seen on the MT-LB above.

  Rare Tigers

A 1/76 of the Porsche Tiger II prototype, the Tiger P2 Typ 180 (VK4502(P)) which was apparently operational. Uses the standard Porsche Tiger II turret on a new chassis. I finished it in the plain red-brown primer seen on some late war tanks.

  Milicast Nashorn

I think this is something like the third re-build over the years where Milicast have upgraded one of their original 1/76 models. This is their current Nashorn, complete with turned aluminium gun barrel, and plenty of detail wthin the fighting compartment. Camo finish uses pastels for the green disruptive pattern, and transfers from Archer Fine Transfers range.

  British A10 Cruiser

Originally a 1/76 mixed media model from CMSC, the A10 has now passed to MMS, who have altered it slightly to be produced in all metal, and with single piece track units in their usual style.

  British A9 Cruiser

Another one that was originally with CMSC but has now passed over to MMS, who have made one or two alterations to get it produced all in metal now.

  M4A2 mid-production

A metal model from MMS, this one is the mid-production variant of the M4A2, amidst the 1.76 range by MMS. I have seen many queries on how to convert kits to the M4A2. My preferred solution is to use this, or other production varaiants also on offer in the MMS range.

  Ford WOT 2E GS

Another version of the lovely little 15cwt truck, in 1/76 by MMS. Seen here assembled and primed, with grey over the base white metal of the kit itself.

  British 60lber gun

In 1/76, this was originally cast in metal amidst the 4-Mil models range. Among a number from that range sold on to Trux Models, who have now released it in resin. Straightforward to assemble, seen here in the travel position. The limber is supplied.

  Mack NO

Still one of my favourite resin models in 1/76 by Trux models here in the UK. It is an impressive looking truck in real life, and that is reflected well by the model.

  SHQ T34/85 and PT34 Mineroller

This white metal model of the T34 has the mine roller sold as a separate item in the range, so just add the two together to get the combination seen here, built up "as supplied" In the range of 1/76 models by SHQ. With dry transfers from one of the sheets by Small Scale Productions.
